Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using computer-aided dispatch systems
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and incident details
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems efficiently
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents and natural disasters
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other emergency agencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum age of 18 years at time of appointment
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
