Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using radio and computer-aided dispatch systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all dispatch activities and incidents.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and public safety radio frequencies to identify potential threats.
- Provide critical information to responding officers to ensure officer safety.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License is mandatory.
- U.S. Citizenship and proof of residency within the United States.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work rotating shifts (24/7/365 schedule).
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and Microsoft Office Suite.
