Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency 911 calls and non-emergency requests for service;
- Monitor police department radio frequencies and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems for unit status updates;
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident scenes;
- Accurately enter and update incident reports and field information into the CAD system;
- Provide critical information to responding officers and emergency services;
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during high-pressure situations;
- Assist with administrative duties and record-keeping as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute;
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record;
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States;
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
