Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with speed, accuracy, and empathy
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services to appropriate locations
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Provide critical information to responding personnel and other agencies
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress emergency situations
- Adhere to all departmental policies and legal protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
