Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units, fire, and EMS resources using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communications with field units during critical incidents
- Enter/update case information in law enforcement databases
- Provide crisis intervention and calming instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate NCIC and state criminal justice systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (college preferred)
- U.S. citizenship and valid NC driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Exceptional multitasking and stress management skills
- Clear verbal communication and active listening abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
