Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations.
- Enter and update incident information accurately into CAD systems.
- Communicate effectively with field personnel, dispatchers, and other agencies.
- Monitor radio frequencies and status boards for real-time updates.
- Provide information and assistance to the public via telephone and in-person.
- Participate in the 12-week Dispatcher Trainee program to obtain 911 certification.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Arizona Driverβs License (Class D) with a clean driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (20 words per minute preferred).
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
