Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communications with field units
- Enter/update case data in law enforcement databases
- Provide critical information to responding officers during incidents
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
- Complete all state-mandated certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed minimum 40 WPM (will be tested)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional multi-tasking ability
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Florida residency required within 30 days of hire
- Must obtain Florida Public Safety Telecommunicator certification within 6 months
