Responsibilities
- Process incoming emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with precise location and incident details
- Maintain calm communication during critical incidents (accidents, crimes, medical emergencies)
- Coordinate multi-agency responses with fire, EMS, and other emergency services
- Document call logs and incident reports with meticulous attention to detail
- Operate radio equipment and surveillance systems during active incidents
- Provide critical information to officers in the field and to responding agencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear diction and exceptional verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
