Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Accurately sort incoming mail and packages by size, shape, and ZIP code to ensure timely delivery.
- Deliver to Customers: Drive delivery vehicles (trucks or vans) along designated routes to deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely load, unload, and organize mail on the delivery vehicle, ensuring all items are secure for the journey.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer questions about mail delivery, and collect signatures for registered mail.
- Maintain Equipment: Perform routine checks on delivery vehicles and report any maintenance needs to ensure safety and compliance.
- Handle Outgoing Mail: Collect and process outgoing mail from post office boxes and customer mailboxes.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a current, valid driver's license (Class B preferred).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status.
- Reliability: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Availability: Must be available for overtime and flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
