Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public health strategies targeting Detroit's most vulnerable populations
- Oversee grant-funded health initiatives including vaccination programs and chronic disease management
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and recommend policy interventions
- Coordinate with community partners, healthcare providers, and government agencies
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Lead crisis response efforts during public health emergencies
- Prepare reports for county commissioners and state health departments
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health program management
- Michigan Public Health Administrator certification required
- Experience with grant writing and federal/state health programs
- Strong data analysis skills using tools like SPSS or SAS
- Knowledge of Title X, Medicaid, and WIC programs
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Experience working with diverse urban populations preferred
