Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and maternal/child health initiatives
- Manage federal/state grant funding ($2M+ portfolio) ensuring compliance and measurable outcomes
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health disparities and guide resource allocation
- Lead cross-departmental emergency response coordination for public health crises
- Oversee community outreach initiatives engaging vulnerable populations through partnerships
- Monitor policy compliance with CDC and Tennessee Department of Health regulations
- Mentor junior staff and conduct performance evaluations within the health department
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or related health administration field
- 5+ years progressive experience in public health program management
- Valid Tennessee Public Health Administrator certification
- Proven expertise in grant writing and federal compliance (HRSA/CDC)
- Advanced proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, Tableau)
- Demonstrated success in community coalition building and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of health equity frameworks and culturally competent service delivery
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for policy briefings and public presentations
