Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation of county-wide public health initiatives including vaccination programs and disease surveillance
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises and natural disasters
- Analyze health data trends to develop evidence-based policy recommendations
- Manage cross-departmental partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations
- Supervise public health staff and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Develop grant proposals and manage federal/state public health funding allocations
- Conduct community outreach to address health disparities in underserved Detroit neighborhoods
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of public health administration experience in government setting
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Expertise in health data analysis and epidemiological reporting tools
- Proven experience managing emergency response protocols and crisis communications
- Demonstrated success securing and managing public health grants
- Strong knowledge of Michigan Public Health Code and CDC guidelines
- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to motivate diverse teams
