Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and inform public health policies
- Develop and implement community health education programs targeting underserved populations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare public health emergency response plans
- Conduct program evaluations and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and leadership
- Manage grants and budgets for public health initiatives ensuring compliance with regulations
- Represent the department at community meetings and health fairs
- Stay current with evolving public health regulations and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health data analysis or program coordination
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) and data visualization tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly
- Experience with grant management and budget oversight
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of Houston's diverse communities and health disparities
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
