Responsibilities
- Lead city-wide public health emergency response operations including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness protocols aligned with CDC/FEMA guidelines
- Coordinate multi-agency crisis communications with federal, state, and local partners
- Manage field operations during public health emergencies including resource deployment
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform strategic response decisions
- Train and supervise emergency response teams and volunteer networks
- Prepare grant reports and maintain compliance with federal funding requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent FEMA credentials
- Proven expertise in crisis communication and public messaging
- Advanced knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks and incident command systems
- Strong analytical skills with experience in epidemiological data interpretation
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergency activations with flexible scheduling
- Valid Colorado driver's license and ability to travel throughout the city
