Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for public health threats
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during crisis events
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for Kansas City communities
- Train public health staff and community partners on emergency procedures
- Manage incident command systems during public health emergencies
- Prepare and submit required reports to state and federal authorities
- Lead community outreach and education initiatives on preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health or emergency response
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300 or higher)
- Strong knowledge of federal emergency management frameworks
- Experience with multi-agency coordination and resource management
- Exceptional communication and crisis decision-making skills
- Ability to work flexible hours during emergency activations
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
