Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response efforts with FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
- Oversee distribution of medical supplies, vaccines, and emergency resources during outbreaks
- Design and execute public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness and health safety
- Analyze epidemiological data to predict and mitigate emerging health threats
- Manage grant-funded projects for public health infrastructure improvements
- Train community health workers on emergency response procedures
- Prepare detailed incident reports and post-event improvement plans
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public health emergency response or disaster management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential required
- Expertise in incident command systems (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proven success coordinating multi-agency health initiatives during crises
- Advanced knowledge of Louisiana public health laws and FEMA regulations
- Exceptional crisis communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergencies and travel statewide as needed
