Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health crises (e.g., disease outbreaks, natural disasters)
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies for diverse Detroit communities
- Liaise with local hospitals, emergency services, and community organizations
- Manage data collection and reporting for state/federal compliance
- Train public health staff on emergency protocols and resource allocation
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning for vulnerable populations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health or emergency response
- Valid Michigan driver's license and ability to travel across Wayne County
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, NIMS)
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
- Experience working with diverse populations in urban settings
- Ability to work rotating shifts and deploy within 2 hours during emergencies
