Responsibilities
- Lead epidemiological investigations for communicable disease outbreaks in El Paso County
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations
- Analyze health data trends and prepare actionable reports for state leadership
- Manage grant-funded public health programs and ensure compliance with regulations
- Train frontline healthcare workers on infection control and safety protocols
- Advise policymakers on public health strategies affecting border communities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of public health experience with outbreak response
- Texas Department of State Health Services certification required
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Experience with grant management and federal reporting
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel within El Paso County
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
