Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site field investigations for disease outbreaks and public health emergencies
- Interview affected individuals and gather critical epidemiological data
- Implement control measures to prevent disease transmission
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, labs, and community partners
- Document findings and prepare comprehensive investigation reports
- Provide public health education and risk communication to at-risk populations
- Respond to urgent public health alerts within 2-hour notice
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of field investigation experience
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Certified in Emergency Response Operations (within 6 months of hire)
- Experience with Epi-Info or similar epidemiological software
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during outbreaks
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
- Must pass background check and drug screening
