The San Diego County Health & Human Services Agency seeks an urgent hire for a Public Health Emergency Response Coordinator to lead critical public health initiatives during crises. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute county-wide emergency response plans for public health crises
- Coordinate with federal/state/local agencies (FEMA, CDC, Cal OES) during incidents
- Lead crisis communication strategies for diverse San Diego communities
- Train and deploy emergency response teams across 18 incorporated cities
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform resource allocation and interventions
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness programs ($2M+ budget)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health emergency response
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
- Proficiency with emergency management software (ESRI, WebEOC)
- Experience managing cross-functional government partnerships
- Valid California Driver's License
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish highly preferred
