The Arizona Department of Health Services seeks a dynamic Senior Public Health Analyst to lead evidence-based initiatives in Mesa's rapidly growing population. Responsibilities
- Design and oversee community health assessment initiatives using GIS mapping and epidemiological analysis
- Develop evidence-based intervention strategies for chronic disease prevention programs
- Coordinate with CDC and HHS agencies to secure federal grant funding for public health initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams of environmental health specialists and community outreach coordinators
- Prepare comprehensive reports for state legislature and federal compliance reviews
- Manage $2M+ annual budgets for health equity programs across 12 municipalities
- Implement emergency response protocols for public health crises
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of public health experience with government agency or non-profit organization
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS) and health data visualization tools
- Valid Arizona Public Health Practitioner certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated success in securing federal grants (HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA)
- Experience developing health equity frameworks for diverse populations
- Knowledge of Arizona Revised Statutes Title 36 (Public Health Code)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Background Security Clearance
