Responsibilities
- Conduct routine food facility inspections and safety audits
- Investigate public health complaints and outbreaks
- Enforce county health codes and sanitation regulations
- Educate businesses and residents on health compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Collaborate with state and federal health agencies
- Respond to public health emergencies and disasters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field
- Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years' regulatory inspection experience
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety protocols
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
