Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological investigations of disease outbreaks and health hazards
- Collect, analyze, and report public health data using advanced surveillance systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, laboratories, and community stakeholders
- Develop and implement intervention strategies for high-risk populations
- Provide expert testimony for legal proceedings and public health hearings
- Train staff on outbreak investigation protocols and health emergency response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in disease investigation or public health surveillance
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) or equivalent emergency training
- Proficiency with health data analytics tools (e.g., Epi-Info, SAS)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Experience with health equity initiatives and underserved populations
