Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health risks and inform policy development
- Develop evidence-based recommendations for local health initiatives and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with state/federal agencies to align public health strategies with national frameworks
- Manage community outreach programs to improve health literacy and access to services
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council and public health stakeholders
- Evaluate program effectiveness using KPIs and adjust strategies based on performance metrics
- Lead interdepartmental task forces addressing complex health challenges like opioid response
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related field
- 3+ years of government or non-profit public health experience
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated success in developing evidence-based health policy recommendations
- Experience with grant writing and federal/state compliance requirements
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive health data access
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholder audiences
