Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health education initiatives
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify health disparities and design intervention strategies
- Analyze epidemiological data and health trends to inform program development and policy recommendations
- Manage program budgets, prepare grant applications, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses and public health crisis communications
- Provide technical assistance to local health departments and community organizations
- Prepare comprehensive reports on program outcomes and impact for leadership review
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation or healthcare administration
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of Illinois public health regulations and federal guidelines (e.g., CDC, HRSA)
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a government environment
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
