Responsibilities
- Design and implement evidence-based public health interventions targeting Houston's vulnerable populations
- Analyze complex epidemiological data using SAS, R, or Python to identify emerging health trends
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to develop culturally responsive health education programs
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy recommendations for state health leadership
- Manage multi-agency projects including emergency response coordination during health crises
- Mentor junior staff and train public health professionals on data visualization techniques
- Secure and manage federal/state grant funding for public health initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public health analytics or epidemiology
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS/R/Python) and GIS mapping tools
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent professional credential
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and federal/state compliance requirements
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred
- Knowledge of Texas public health regulations and Title X funding protocols
- Exceptional communication skills with bilingual English/Spanish proficiency highly valued
