Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health intervention programs targeting underserved communities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations for reportable diseases
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate vaccination and health screening initiatives
- Analyze health data to identify trends and prepare actionable reports for policy makers
- Manage community outreach projects focusing on health literacy and disease prevention
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses for public health threats
- Maintain compliance with CDC, KDHE, and federal grant reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related health sciences
- 3+ years of experience in government or non-profit public health programs
- Valid Kansas driver's license and reliable transportation for field visits
- Proficiency in SPSS, R, or similar statistical analysis software
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with grant writing and federal compliance (e.g., CDC, HRSA)
- Knowledge of health equity frameworks and culturally responsive communication
- Ability to obtain Public Health Emergency Response (PHER) certification
