Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and data analysis to identify community health trends
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses for public health threats
- Manage community outreach initiatives including health screenings and educational workshops
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align health initiatives with city priorities
- Prepare comprehensive grant proposals and manage federal/state funding allocations
- Provide technical guidance to local healthcare providers and community organizations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation
- California Public Health Officer certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Experience managing federal/state grant-funded projects
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Khmer strongly preferred
- Valid California driver's license
- Knowledge of Healthy People 2030 objectives and CDC guidelines
