Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based health education programs for diverse Austin populations
- Conduct epidemiological investigations and report on disease trends
- Collaborate with community partners on vaccination initiatives
- Manage grant-funded health projects and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Analyze public health data to inform strategic planning
- Represent the department at community health fairs and stakeholder meetings
- Prepare detailed reports for state health officials and policymakers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of public health program experience
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential
- Experience with data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for community events
- Spanish bilingual proficiency highly desirable
