Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and inform policy decisions
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for health crises including pandemics and natural disasters
- Lead community outreach initiatives to increase vaccination rates and health literacy
- Manage grants and budgets for health equity projects with $500K+ annual funding
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, NGOs, and community leaders on multi-sector initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Board of Supervisors and public health advisory boards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive public health experience with government or nonprofit agencies
- Expertise in health equity frameworks and culturally competent program design
- Advanced data analysis skills (SPSS, R, or SAS) with experience in health informatics
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel to diverse community sites
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and managing public health budgets
- Strong crisis management experience with emergency response coordination
