Responsibilities
- Develop and execute community health education programs targeting underserved populations
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers on preventive care initiatives
- Prepare and submit compliance reports for state and federal grant requirements
- Coordinate with border health agencies on cross-border health initiatives
- Analyze health data to identify emerging public health trends
- Train community health workers on best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in community health or government public health roles
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Proficiency in Spanish (bilingual required for community engagement)
- Experience with grant writing and compliance reporting
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for community events
