Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health education
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations for reportable diseases
- Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and local agencies to address social determinants of health
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state health regulations
- Prepare public health reports, data analyses, and policy recommendations for leadership
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses including vaccination campaigns and disaster recovery
- Lead community outreach initiatives promoting health literacy and preventive services
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health program implementation or epidemiological work
- Valid Texas Department of State Health Services certification in public health
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R) and GIS mapping
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency
- Experience with grant writing and federal compliance (CDC, HRSA)
- Ability to work flexible hours during public health emergencies
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
