- Manage media relations and coordinate press conferences
- Oversee city social media channels and digital content strategy
- Serve as crisis communications lead during emergencies
- Produce newsletters and public outreach materials
- Collaborate with elected officials and department heads
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional communications experience
- Proven track record in government/public sector communications
- Expertise with social media management and analytics tools
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with portfolio samples
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and media relations experience
- Knowledge of Indiana Sunshine Laws and FOIA procedures
