Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory impacts using quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations for executive leadership and state legislators
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces to implement evidence-based solutions
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess implications for Ohio's governance framework
- Present findings to legislative committees and stakeholder groups
- Manage public engagement initiatives to gather constituent feedback on policy proposals
- Maintain compliance with Ohio Sunshine Laws and open records requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Expertise in Ohio legislative processes and administrative code
- Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through published reports
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
- Valid Ohio driver's license for occasional travel to state facilities
- U.S. citizenship required for government clearance
