Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for city council and mayor's office
- Conduct research on legislative impacts, funding opportunities, and best practices in municipal governance
- Collaborate with multiple city departments to align policy initiatives with strategic goals
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership and public stakeholders
- Monitor federal and state policy changes affecting Baltimore's governance framework
- Engage with community organizations to gather input and ensure equitable policy outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in policy analysis, government relations, or municipal operations
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, R) and policy research methodologies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information
- Deep understanding of Baltimore's socioeconomic landscape and governmental structure
- Valid Maryland driver's license and ability to travel to various city locations
