Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban issues and draft data-driven policy recommendations
- Collaborate with city departments to implement equitable community initiatives
- Conduct research on best practices in municipal governance and public administration
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council and stakeholder presentations
- Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts on Oakland residents
- Facilitate community engagement sessions to gather public feedback

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in government, policy analysis, or public sector roles
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, Excel, R) and policy research methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Deep understanding of California municipal governance and public finance
- Experience with community outreach and stakeholder collaboration
- Valid California driver's license (required for field visits)
