Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response protocols between federal FEMA, Texas DPS, and local Bexar County authorities
- Develop public safety outreach programs for underserved communities
- Analyze federal grant opportunities for disaster preparedness initiatives
- Liaise with Texas Department of Emergency Management on state compliance requirements
- Train municipal staff on updated federal safety regulations
- Prepare quarterly reports for city council on safety metrics
- Manage inter-agency communication during public health crises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or Criminal Justice
- Minimum 3 years government/public sector experience
- Active FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification
- Texas Emergency Management credential (TEMO) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS mapping systems
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools
