Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, medical)
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation per county protocols
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Monitor alarm systems and security camera feeds for county facilities
- Participate in regular emergency drills and training exercises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and psychological evaluation
- Experience in high-stress environments preferred
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and basic software
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish preferred
