Responsibilities
- Manage emergency communications via 911 lines and radio systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate incident logs and database records
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate CAD systems and emergency alert technologies
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance
- Collaborate with shift supervisors for operational efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 1 year emergency dispatch or public safety experience
- Valid California POST Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and overtime
- Proficiency in CAD systems (e.g., Motorola, Hexagon)
- Strong de-escalation and crisis management skills
- U.S. citizenship and clean background check
