Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate emergency units using CAD systems and radio communication
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per NENA standards
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate and troubleshoot emergency communication systems
- Participate in continuous training drills and scenario simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in public safety dispatching or emergency services
- NENA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Exceptional communication skills under high-pressure conditions
- Must pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
