Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response protocols during natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Conduct community risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Train municipal staff and residents in emergency preparedness procedures
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies during crisis scenarios
- Manage public safety communication systems and alert networks
- Prepare and maintain emergency operations documentation
- Lead community outreach programs on safety awareness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in public safety or emergency response
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to 24/7 emergencies
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Strong crisis communication and decision-making skills
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
