Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls and non-emergency requests with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed incident documentation and compliance logs
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate specialized communication equipment during night operations
- Provide crisis intervention support to callers in distress
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- NYS Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in high-pressure environments
- Ability to multitask across multiple communication channels
- Proficient in typing (minimum 40 WPM)
- Valid NYS driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
