Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake interviews and screening processes for new applicants seeking public assistance.
- Review and accurately process applications for SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid, and TANF benefits.
- Verify applicant information against state databases and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive records.
- Communicate complex eligibility requirements and policy changes to applicants in a clear, empathetic manner.
- Resolve complex inquiries and escalate issues to senior case managers when necessary.
- Collaborate with community partners and legal aid organizations to ensure holistic client support.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on program utilization and case status updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Social Work or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in case management, customer service, or a government agency setting.
- Strong working knowledge of Kentucky state benefits programs and federal regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and case management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and active listening.
- Ability to handle high volumes of work and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Kentucky Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required for occasional field visits).
