Responsibilities
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of public parks, streets, and facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
- Community Engagement: Interact with the public, answering inquiries regarding city services and reporting maintenance issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Administrative Support: Process daily logs, maintain accurate records of work completed, and update digital databases using government software systems.
- Compliance Enforcement: Monitor compliance with city ordinances, safety regulations, and environmental policies during field operations.
- Equipment Management: Inspect, clean, and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency response situations, such as severe weather events or public safety incidents, as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, maintenance, or public administration is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- License: Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Background Check: Must pass a standard government background check and drug screening.
