Responsibilities
- Oversee $50M+ infrastructure budgets and capital improvement projects
- Coordinate with state/federal agencies for grant compliance and funding
- Manage public works teams (engineering, maintenance, transportation)
- Develop policy recommendations for city council approval
- Ensure compliance with CA environmental regulations (CEQA/NEPA)
- Lead crisis response for public works emergencies
- Implement sustainable infrastructure initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Public Administration
- 5+ years municipal public works management experience
- Valid California Professional Engineer license
- Proven budget management for $10M+ projects
- Experience with federal/state grant programs
- PMP certification preferred
- CA driver's license with clean record
