Responsibilities
- Oversee infrastructure maintenance projects including roads, water systems, and public facilities
- Manage departmental budgets and procurement processes for public works initiatives
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies for grant compliance and reporting requirements
- Implement sustainable development practices in urban planning projects
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and administrative staff
- Analyze public works data to optimize service delivery and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and municipal regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public works management
- Valid North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software and project management tools
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-million dollar infrastructure budgets
- Strong knowledge of federal/state infrastructure funding programs
- Excellent communication skills for public presentations and stakeholder engagement
