Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with engineering plans and safety regulations
- Review contractor submittals and ensure adherence to county specifications
- Document findings in detailed reports and maintain accurate project records
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city officials to resolve issues
- Conduct field inspections of public infrastructure (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Verify material quality and installation methods meet industry standards
- Prepare violation notices and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience in public works
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO certifications in Building Inspection or related field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and inspection software (e.g., FieldManager)
- Knowledge of California Building Codes and Title 24 regulations
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills
