Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with city codes and blueprints
- Review engineering plans and specifications for public infrastructure projects
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports with photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Issue permits and enforce corrective actions for non-compliant work
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning sessions
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and communications
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO Certification as a Plans Examiner or Inspector highly desirable
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction documents, and technical specifications
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly document findings
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse construction sites
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field preferred
