Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and sidewalk installations
- Assist in debris removal and emergency storm response
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks
- Collaborate with crew leads on public works projects
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow OSHA safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Illinois Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check
