Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction sites for compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols
- Review and approve development plans, permits, and contractor documentation
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure issues
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Enforce city ordinances and state regulations on construction projects
- Assist in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- ICBO/CBO certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS mapping, and inspection software
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and FDOT standards
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
- Associates degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
